The area around Aspen, Colorado is one of the world’s great ski and snowboard vacation destinations. Greater Aspen includes four ski resort areas: Aspen Mountain Ski Resort, Aspen Highlands Ski Resort, Buttermilk Ski Area and Snowmass.

The Aspen Mountain ski area consists of more than 670 acres of “skiable” land on the north side of the mountain. More than a quarter of the trails are classified as “expert”. The longest run is three miles long and the high point is more than 3,200 feet above the town.

Location

The Aspen Mountain ski area is adjacent to and to the south of the town of Aspen. Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass are all less than eight miles west of town.

Aspen can be accessed by car via Colorado Route 82, which connects with Interstate 70 about 40 miles north in the town of Glenwood Springs. It’s a 200 mile ride from Denver to Aspen.
